This resource is on the hundred square and the 1-120 square/grid. Students gain practice in moving up and down in tens and matching tens and ones/units grids to the numbers on the hundred square. Referring to the hundred square to complete word problem questions, include place value tens and ones. If you are looking for some hundred square activities, then resource is ideal for use in lessons, review and homework. Answer Keys included. Content: • Worksheet 1 – (2 pages) - Students complete the hundred square from 1 to 100. After completing it, there are 11 questions to answer. • Worksheet 2 – (2 pages) - Students fill in the partially completed hundred square. After completing it, there are 7 activities to do. Three of the activities include students shading in every two jumps for counting in two, every five jumps for counting in fives and every ten jumps for counting in tens. • Hundred Square -Tens/Ones Activities (A to E) Students work out what each tens and ones grid represent and write the number in the circle and then shade in the number on the hundred square. The first example has been done. • 2x Cut/Paste missing numbers puzzle on a hundred square. Students will see that there are missing extracts of grids from the hundred square. They cut out the grids and glue them in the correct spaces on the hundred square. • Missing numbers on a hundred square. Students will see parts of a hundred square which they complete with the missing numbers. • 10 More than/Less than Word Problems. You can use this resource to present in an assembly (10-15 mins) or as a standalone lesson as I have included worksheets. It is editable to suit learning abilities of your pupils. Remember to ‘Save As’, give a new name to the Presentation before editing. You can change the date of Mother’s Day as it changes each year. **This resource relates to repeated addition and arrays to visualize multiplication. ** Aimed at: Year 1/2 and Lower Keystage 2, and SEND. PowerPoint Presentation (24 Slides) contains: Illustration and explanation of arrays (rows and columns) How we read the arrays What is repeated addition and how it is written (2 + 2 + 2 = 3 lots of 2 = 2 x 3), i.e 2 repeated 3 times. Whole class activity on describing an array on their whiteboards There are 3 worksheets:- Activity 1 (2 pages) - Children write repeated additions for the arrays shown. Children that require support with the activities can write one repeated addition e.g. 2 + 2 + 2 whereas a more able child will be able to write two addition models: 2 + 2 + 2 and 3 + 3. Activity 2 (2 pages) - (Extension) Same as above but the arrays are larger. There is a small section on the worksheets where it asks children to show 3 lots of 4 and then circle the groups. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Very useful addition to your phonics resources to reinforce spelling and writing of CVC words and reading simple sentences. Aimed at: EYFS/Year 1 A set of worksheets for children to practise spelling and writing words that have the same rime ending. The children can practise reading sight words and decodable words. This practical resource contains cut and paste worksheets of 29 onset/rime words. **The worksheets are differentiated. There are 29 worksheets in each set. ** Onset and Rime 1 Worksheets - The cut/paste activity is in two parts. The student cuts out, sorts and then sticks each letter in the correct order to spell what the picture is. This single phonics pack focuses on initial consonant blend ‘gl’ CCVC words. As with the other consonant blends packs: it is child-centred child-friendly and a step up from CVC and CCV to Phase 4: Letters and Sounds Phonics. Increases children’s vocabulary. Aimed at: Reception and keystage 1, SEND and ESL/EFL students. It is an addition to my other resources on initial consonant blends.
